Thanks for the link to 'what could very well be' the cover art for Mr.Ferry's anticipated solo album! If this is the final cover, I must say whatever the driver behind the the roses in bed, it seems very apropos: Boudoir matters - so delicate and fragrant yet slightly thorny and messy, subliminally lush and liquid. Mercy me, I do like the nestled effect. Makes me think of high tea in the garden, long strands of iridescent pearls, seductive companionship, pink champagne and cufflinks, emmm... Does anyone think the title "Olympia" may have been chosen because of the 'olympian task' involved with piecing the forth coming album together for market? In much the same way that "Frantic" was named for the 'whirled storm' of its birthing? Surely, Mr. Ferry wouldn't have named this album in tribute to Leni Riefenstahl's production company "Olympia" that produced "Olympiad" the documentary ultimately financed and owned by the Third Reich? I hope there will be a release in the US for neglected Yanks. Happy Trails. Not so sure about that being the final cover (yes, I know misplaced doubt over finished cover art has scuppered many a commentator's credibility in the past, but I'll take the risk). I feel there are surprises to come.. I doubt Ferry is referring to Nazi propaganda films this time around, but my money's squarely on the Manet painting being inspiration. There's a touch of Kari Ann about it. I wonder... Is the US neglected when it comes to Ferry's output? I recall Dylanesque falling on deaf ears, chez Porter... Maybe he thinks you don't care?
