Which makes me wonder - KB Porter? Are you there? Did you ever get to listen to Dylanesque? " Hum, the association of 'crap' and ' KBPoter' - ummm... HA HA HA! - Could make me uncomfortable, but I know that isn't what you were driving at, Jonathan. Now how's that for self-deprecating humour? Rather, I'm sure you thought of me and my reluctance to give Dylanesque a spin: Despite being in possession of two (2) legal and legally obtained Dylanesque cd's - indeed, one (1) of them personally autographed by the Great BF, gifted to my by RD, my BBFFF (try and figure that one out) and an un-opened personally store=bought copy, I hold fast to my reluctance. That is correct - I have not listened to Dylanesque. Sadly, Frantic followed by the few pieces I've heard from Dylanesque have lodged an unshakable forbearance, a fear that Mr. Ferry's brilliance has been partly suffocated or eclipsed by his languishing self. I deeply love his music and if Mr. Ferry never wrote another lyric I feel his back catalog would continue to sustain me: The years of listening enjoyment I have, and shall continue to have, sustains me well enough. However, I completely understand Thom's ambivalence and disappointed with BF's last two published efforts and the purported new solo album. And, if indeed, Andy Cooper's hotlink the BF's remake of You Can Dance is representative of the new effort, well, I'd much rather play something else... BTW, If anyone reading this wants to listen to some ancient verrry longgg recording that is, IMO, fabulously enjoyable please spin Traffic's "The Low Spark of High-Heeled Boys". Nearly nine minutes of bliss compared to the clunk so kindly hot-linked for us - of course, If I'm duly smashed, in fun company, swagging at a techno pod with pacifier in tow I'd probably find U Can Dance is the best thing created since Cracker Jacks! As with the Martin and Jonathan encampment, I feel you benefit from the privileged proximity to concert locals frequented by Mr. Ferry's performances. Surely, seeing him live has got to enhance your enjoyment and appreciation for BF's orb. I envy you on this account. Poor old deprived American me... I've only my recorded music at hand. I wish every happiness, health, and success for Bryan Ferry. I am appreciative for the recent successes of the other Roxy Founders. Martin wrote: I really wonder why some people bother to be on this list." Answer: Because we are Masochistic? And, "With fiends like the Avalon group I wonder what Bryan does for enemies."
