My VHS copy has been gathering dust for ten years or so, and I recall Marlana (from the Deep South) kindly mailing me a cassette boot of this show around the time I distributed A Perfumed Sigh to friends on this list. And here it in .. in 5:1 surroundsound ....Framed around Limbo and Michael Clarke's fabulous visuals - the voodoo, the strange fruit, the lushlife - this is Ferry at his majestic best. He was never a great mover but here he's a shakin' like Jerry Lee in his boho teddy boy drapes...with Yanick and co up front .. looking like natives encountered on a faraway island.... oh its soooo good. Great song selection too ... Chosen One, Ladytron, Windswept ... yummy yummy ... The "extra" gig, well filmed at some Teutonic location, in 2002 good value too. Katie looking stupendo. Jeff. Whilst I haven't yet seen a copy, I would say that it is typical for UK music DVDs NOT to have region coding. So this may not be an issue once the Brit copy is available. Checked previous releases: High Road - region 0 (i.e. not encoded) Live in Paris - no mention (i.e. probably no region code) Live at the Apollo - marked as 2,3,4,5,6. How strange! (Anywhere but USA/Canada!) Maybe someone with a copy could enlighten. As for TV standards: one of the upsides of globalisation and the increasing complexity/cost of semiconductor design is that usually only one chip gets designed for worldwide markets. Check out the video settings menu on your DVD player and TV and you may find that you have all the technology you need to play a (region-free?) PAL copy. The majority of DVD players can also play any region code with nothing more than a few clicks of the remote control. I recently purchased a cheap, ugly, but very well equipped DVD player from German discount retailer Lidl and it will output both NTSC and PAL (and maybe even SECAM). Regards.
