Not only was he quite often, visually the most interesting person at the party, he also had the extremely good taste to hook up with David Bryne and make the best album of the year, with the release of b My Life In The Bush Of Ghostsb. If you don't own that record, please retrieve your cloak from the cloakroom. The good news is that thirty years later theybve had the genius idea of doing another one. Not only is this an essential purchase, it's the sort of thing you should if you have to, go without food for. It's that godly, and quite nutritious. It's a record that will surprise those expecting to hear My Life part two, it's got straightforward songs on it, which makes it all the more lovable and brave, and something that could easily become your personal soundtrack to long walks, longer flights and god forbid a journey on public transport. So there you have it dear reader, a friend for life. Ted outside your door, wearing a tattered bowler. ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 4 Oct 2008 20:54:14 +0100 From: "Ivor Canning" Subject: Re: [AVALON] KOKO newsletter Richard contradicts Eno (shock, horror) ! > (unless of course you are one of these people who persists in > saying that Roxy were Bryan Ferry's brainchild) ;-) Ah, right - so that would include Eno himself then - unless his comments on the recent 'More Than This' documentary were dubbed on by an actor ? Or was it some sort of Oblique Strategy ? KOKO the clowns then stated: > In 1978 Brian Eno looked like an exotic peacock in a sea of trench coats > and > early Elvis Costello fans. Not only was he quite often, visually the most > interesting person at the party, S'funny, my recollection of pictures of Eno from about 1976 onward were rather more of the short-cropped hair, T-shirt and jacket image (oh and a nice woolly jumper in one picture I recall). But then, what do I know ? Oh well, back to pedants' corner ... d'oh ! Regards, Ivor n.p.
