I could get pelters for this but I've always been felt Lucy and to a lesser extent Katie were a little ordinary looking, given Ferrys love God status. They have something about them but don't stand out. Although both better than Jerry Hall, who did stand out. The pic of Susie Cussins does look similar, it's the same type of look. I would have expected Ferry to have gone for the likes of Alex Kingston (who he dated in 2005 according to Google) Or maybe he should have thought more carefully about the Bond role..... http://cinema.photos.fluctuat.net/images/dossiers/c/i/cinema/James-Bond-Girl s/IM-2483-Fiona-Fullerton.jpg ...and she does have a bit of the look Ferry prefers. Or even Mariella - http://www.channel4.com/4homes/media/S/stirling_prize/medium/judge_frostrup_ md.jpg Does anyone have any other suggestions!? - -----Original Message----- From: Martin Stockman [mailto:martinstockman@btinternet.com] Sent: 25 February 2008 13:39 To: rob.whiteford@larcltd.co.uk; Chandla911@aol.com; avalon@smoe.org Subject: RE: [AVALON] Ferry splits Have been meaning to post this for a while. Like everyone upon purchasing the Bracewell book the first thing I did was look at the photos. My jaw dropped when I saw the photo of Bryan's university girlfriend (my mind is a blank, Susie?) in the croquet pictures. She is the spitting image of both Lucy and Katie. And then I wonder how or why this quite unusual "look" touches something in his heart. They all have that pre-Raphaelite thing going, not a million miles away from the painting he chose for the sleeve of the single More Than This. Pale, round face, dark brown hair, dark eyes, ....Am I alone in finding this interesting ?!! ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 28 Feb 2008 11:01:14 -0500 From: "K B Porter" Subject: Re: [AVALON] Ferry splits Rob casts the bait: "Does anyone have any other suggestions!?" Ya - Me!!! HA,HA,HA (Folks, that's a huge joke. I wouldn't stand a snowball's-chance-in-hell with Ferry!) Yes, to Martin, you are not alone in your thinking. I am not surprised that BF seems settled on a certain look - most people do gravitate toward a physical preference whether it is consciously decided or not. Lucy and her look-a-likes seem rather pedestrian in feature, certainly not beautiful, but attractive women none the less. What I find interesting is that BF's one exception, Jerry Hall, a type that might be described as 'tall, blond, exotic, Amazonian', seems to have trained him. Did the public humiliation he must have felt when Ms. Hall preferred (then) Mr. Jaggar put Ferry off from attempting further romantic encounters with the tall tales type? In any event, perhaps Mr. Ferry is the peacock and his safe pals play the peahen; they don't compete against him for attention, and they don't attract too much attention from his potential competitors. Ferry clearly didn't like the competition from Eno. Whether he was comfortable with Jerry Halls profile I don't know, but we did hear from tabloids (so it must be true) that the first split with Katie was when he blocked her plans to be a model. Loopy Loo certainly wasn;t a publicity seeker. Also you have to wonder if these exceptionally beautiful early Roxy lyrics could have been made without a seriously broken heart at some stage. Was Susie Cussins the one that got away? A chapter in a book on Bowie (Paul Gambaccini I think but couldn't swear to it) suggested a girl called Hermione was important in his life, and drove the quest for stardom.
