Subject: [AVALON] Re: Dylan-Ferry While this is the subject, Has anyone read Bob Dylan Chronicles. Volume One? You ought to read it their are more similaritlys of Ferry & Dylan than thought possible. In what they read, the music, who their idols are. Dylan married an aspiringing actress who paints. Dylan took up art as well. I knew they were both individuals who were so far out there. Like sponges absorbing every books & music they could get their hands on. When Dylan played the harmonica he said he used a coat hanger to fashion it around his neck to play. Later he said he found a "rack"( its called that) in a basement of an old record store. Dylan was more private & keeping his family the top priority in his life. He said there were times when he'd rather stay home than be out on the road. Unlike Ferry > Dylan wanted his wife along on the road with him. ---The book is well done & I have to say Dylan is still a legend & this book gives me even greater respect for him. In all the names mentioned he never said an unkind word of anyone. His heros in music was Woody Guthrie & a woman singer named "Odetta".--This book is a poignant reflection on life, & the people & places that helped shape Dylan & the art. --A good read.......
