They're peculiar, rather than beautiful: "Oh tutti frutti... an eagle is a mo- mah... Gino, Gino in the Dynamo: YOU CAN DANCE in a discotheque at dawn it's when it came to me (1) I've been raving through the night lookin' for some company it was the Mambo talkin' it's got a lot to say do you come here often do ya wanna play we're hitchhiking to Paris we zigzag by the Seine (2) a Hollywood moment our love will be the same (3) - - -you can dance- there's a world /awaiting /of waiting/ (4) way beyond the scene how I love to travel baby will you come with me -you can dance- jump on the table slide down the pole you can wear your sable you can bare your soul from Reno down to Vegas casinos never close through the movers and the shakers (5) where the Tango never kno-ho-hooooe-oe-w (6) - - ---radio-snippets--- - - -you can dance- to the Motor City that's where I get my shoot (7) I need some inspiration I got a lot of time to lose -you can dance- from Brady Square up to Jesmond Dene then the dolce vita (8) I find my beauty queen (Coming two lines are very unclear for me ...) - - - - an ea (gle) is a mo- mah- (a needle is a moment?) - - - - - - I knew she will approve (my mission will improve?) - - (9) the music and the motion (10) will make you wanna move - - -you can dance- (I) take ya to the river try singin' in the rain -we can dance- I like a jungle fever got me in the mood again -you can dance- oh tutti-frutti jump by Hollywood -you can dance- (11) and then Campari soda a Can-Can if I could -you can dance- party party (12) chez mister Chow -you can dance- hula kula in the here and now -you can dance- riba riba (13) the Taj Mahal -you can dance- Gino, Gino (14) (in the) Dynamo? (15) -you can dance- - - -you can dance- - - -you can dance- (repeated many times) Notes: (1) I'd change 'it's' to 'is'. (2) I don't know if changing 'tense' within a stanza is something Ferry would do? (3) 'Our love', could very well be. Still a matter of mixing 'tense' concerns me. (4) Given a choice, I take 'awaiting'. (5) Still think this is 'the casinos never close to movers and the shakers'. (6) Could easily be 'where'. (7) This 'shoot' thing - I thought I heard it too, but 'shoes' rhyme better with 'time to lose', and one does need their 'dancing shoes'!? (8) I don't hear the 'then'. (9) These two lines, as I said before, are anyone's guess. Strangely, I can hear 'my mission will improve' since you've mentioned it, plus 'improve' rhymes better with 'move' than what I had originally heard! (I wonder, what 'is his mission'? Does he play pretend 'James Bond' ego, or is it Ecstasy talking?) (10) I think 'motion' is 'emotion' because 'the music and emotion will make you wanna move'. (11) 'tutti-frutti gumball Hollywood' is a nice description of Tinsel Town. (12) I don't hear 'party party' but I still hear hard S's or Z's in the mumble. Guesses anyone? (13) I hear an 'M' in there - perhaps 'rimba rimba', could be 'rumba rumba' - again the 'not readily distinguishable Ferry voice! Yeah, anyone out there willing to ask Mr. Ferry for the 'official' lyrics? (14) I can accept 'gino gino'. (15) Think I still hear 'mao' and not a 'mo' sound. But 'dynamo' (as a dance hall) makes too much good sense to not accept it as the more probable lyric - just chalk the strange pronunciation up to 'the Ferry mumble' that we all love so dearly! OK. In the major key of G ... All together now ... A one, two ... one two three...
