I guess it's well documented after success came to Roxy but I've always been curious about how it all came together. Up to reading the book iit seemed all too easy how Ferry conceived and achieved what he had. Reading the book you realise how important it was for BF to be surrounded by the people he was. Very interesting. > Date: Mon, 15 Oct 2007 01:18:17 +0100> From: bahi.para@gmail.com> To: Jocelynfiske@aol.com; avalon@smoe.org> Subject: Re: [AVALON] Saturday Times (London/UK)> > Jocelynfiske@aol.com wrote:> > >> I don't have the book; has Mr Simpson's role as co-founder been> >> painted over completely?> > > On the contrary, he is credited with reverence throughout.> > Thanks for a _very_ informative reply! Reading the travel and hotel information I found, I see I could only afford to either go there, sr to book a hotel. Makes it a bit difficult I guess. - ----- Original Message ----- From: Eva Weggelaar To: Sent: Monday, October 15, 2007 10:24 AM Subject: St. Petersburg > Does anyone know where you can get tickets for the concert in St. > Petersburg, november 4th? A good film, well suited to black & white , which I assume is not surprising given who directed it. I do have some doubts about the film which rather than spoil it here for those who have not seen it, I could save for another forum or opportunity. Right in the first scenes, we hear the strains of 2HB and around the teenage Curtis' bedroom are files for keeping articles etc about Roxy Music and David Bowie. Listening to Joy Division again and then New Order, I do wonder whether if Curtis had lived whether Joy Divison would have ever became what New Order did, which in some respects was as far removed from the earlier incarnation as later Roxy was from its original. Watching it, I didn't realise that Hook must be quite unpopular around Joy Division/New Order these days because he is made to look like a complete pratt in the film or maybe that is because he is a Man Utd fan ( which I believe he is ) and Curtis was a Man City fan!!! ************************************** See what's new at http://www.aol.com ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ End of avalon-digest V12 #257 ***************************** ======================================================================== For further info, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: info avalon-digest
