Really exciting, I agree! Ferry at his best, showing off, being crazy, funny, daring, all in one (= his trousers)... That's the fantastic, zany Nazi bitch that brought me here. After a series of relatively co-operative meetings, the police now say they have been instructed not to allow the march to take place and that all demonstrations are banned within a mile of Parliament whilst in session. This is a new development which threatens our democratic rights. When Gordon Brown became prime minister he promised to liberalise the laws on protest, saying that one of his principles would be, "civil liberties safeguarded and enhanced". Anyway, a good one indeed, sounding very musical I have the vinyl version 2HB 'Spinning Away' is one of my favourite Eno songs, and one of the few songs to have drawing as its subject. I love the idea of him sketching in the dark: 'I had no idea exactly what I'd drawn'; 'with my pencil turning moments into line.' Wonderful lyrics (assuming they're not Cale's) throughout 'as the great winds of the planet spiral in'. I love the ambient stuff, but Eno's songwriting is so good it's a shame he hasn't spent as much time on songs. 'Course, if he was worried about that kind of stuff, he wouldn't be Eno :) Lee S ____________________________________________ Easily distracted? Displacement activity a problem? Me too.
