["Michiel van Sleen" Subject: [AVALON] Phil in New Gilmour DVD There's lots of Phil Manzanera in the main video and documentary segment of Gilmours new wonderful DVD Remember That night (Live At The Royal Albert Hall). Now we know how many Phil's it takes to fill the Albert Hall... And how many Phil's does it take to change a light bulb? I'd love to turn it on. The lightbulb, that is. > Now we know how many Phil's it takes to fill the Albert Hall... > > Rod > _________________________________________________________________ > Capture your memories in an online journal! > http://www.reallivemoms.com?ocid=TXT_TAGHM&loc=us > > > ___________________________________________________________________________ > To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 20 Sep 2007 09:15:08 -0400 From: "KB Porter" Subject: RE: [AVALON] re - Stupendo etc... The salient fact of interest is how each of us receives art. An individual's perceptions are tightly entwined, directly related to that person's rational and irrational conditions of being. Each has his/her 'take'. Each 'take', if formulated in earnest, is valid - there are no wrights nor rongs. Our job, if you will, is to respect individual differences and to attempt the promotion of well-being. That said, I agree with gardner.muirhead's statement; "It's as if Alphaville was a colour television and Frantic [ with the exception of the glorious "I Thought"] black and white...". Dave Stewart. What was Ferry thinking working with 'the mushmouth mumbler'? Was Stewart supposed to give a skewed stereotypic Native American feel to "Cruel"?: 'Geez, kimosaabie, the long knife come - the buffalo gone, like blades of the grass - Trigger eat them all down!' How in the world can Ferry be so uncool. I prefer Alphaville to Frantic. And I prefer Mamouna to Horoscope. Of these four disks, I could lose Frantic without much tear shed. I've enjoyed the comments on this thread, and welcome anymore. Thank you, to all who took the time and effort to coorespond. Connection is good. Must go pet my kitty now. Best wishes. Ferry doesn't deserve a plume for that song, as we say in the Netherlands. He should have been scalped for his effort. I'm sure it's all based on a misunderstanding. Ferry probably had said: "For Cruel, I want braves, do it!" - ----- Original Message ----- From: "KB Porter" To: Sent: Thursday, September 20, 2007 3:15 PM Subject: RE: [AVALON] re - Stupendo etc... > The salient fact of interest is how each of us receives art.
