...and I'm sitting having coffee at Harvey Nicks 5th Floor, discussing with 
my art director whether we'd get paid or not for the job we're doing for Rimmel 
if the Moss/Doherty affair ends in tragedy with a double overdose at 
Claridges when...
who walks in looking sheepishly debonair but Mr Ferry and a newly shorn 
Katie. I was alerted by the oversized Persols.
Then a few hours later sitting through Woody Harrelson trying his damnedest 
to 'do' Capote in The Walker, the entire bloomin' soundtrack is Ferry in some 
guise or the other. Harrelson's character struggling with his dead father's 
unacceptance of his homosexuality - Which Way to Turn. His encounter with his 
lover in a dingy gaybar - Angel Eyes (Tom of Finland Mix!). His lover being 
threatened with an icepick in his eye - Girl of My Best Friend. Harrelson being 
frozen out by his erstwhile senators' wives friends- Which Way to Turn (again). 
And credits - Which Way to Turn (again, again). Bemused by Paul Shrader's 
obvious Ferry obsession (it was Blondie throughout American Gigolo, of which The 
Walker is a straight rip-off, no pun intended). Anyone know any connection other 
than the fact he may fancy the pants off him? 
Oh, but the film's worth seeing for Lauren Bacall's cameo alone.
Some 'of all the gin joints' day that was.
