Anyway "Virginia Plain" sounds like it should always have done,...... the original I thought was always a bit of a dirge This version is SO crisp and Ferry's vocal is right up at the front. And "Editions of You" is a camp classic with the lyric strecteched out , as" boys will be boys will be boys will be boys".. with a bit of the oy-oys thrown in for good measure. I'd love to hear it down in the clubs in Vauxhall. Lokerse Feesten 09-08-2007! We went the evening that Bryan was playing on this 8 days ( evenings ) of concerts in this Belgium town. A lot of big name's on this "Small" town festival: Such as: Pet shop boys, Pink, Suzanne Vega, Snoop dogg, The Progigy, The Pogues, De Heideroosjes. Clouseau and many more. Our evening was Garland Jeffreys, Gabriel Rios and the main act mister BRYAN FERRY! We ( Rob my brother and is wife Danielle ( Daan we say ) Petra & Romy ( our daughter ) and I met Up in the hotel we booked for the night. Our friend Sjaak Versluis stayed sick at home, Sjaak get well soon. At 7:00 pm to the festival ground, and there was the Belgium relaxed atmosphere again that there always is when you visit a gig over there. Change in our internet voucher ( 16,80 euro a ticket!!! ) for a pink ribbon. At front we met the great Any Mol al alone all the others stayed at home because bad weather conditions Rain rain rain, still falls the rain and a hard rain is gonna fall, but it was dry and we just a little rain the hole evening they must be sorry. The We didn't see much form Carland Jeffreys ( including his mystery guest Lou Reed ) and Gabriel Rios because we checked out the fairground and the Belgium beers, specially Andy and Rob! We went to the front at the end of the show from Gabriel Rios and ended on the first row no problem at all and no Belgium that mind those over enthusiast Dutchman with there girls and Bryan ferry polo's to stand on front row. 15000 people where there. There was a 15min delay, because Ian Dixons synthesiser didn't want to go, they replaced it with a other one! And heft to explain to him how it works. At 11:30 pm they started up the In Crowd and Bryan came up and he gave one of the backing vocals a stroke on her Bo..., how crazy can he get! Laughing all around! And of he went again rushing trough the song with fast tempo and the crowd loved it! Just slowing down at song number 4 Positively 4th street. It looked if as Ferry was having a great time. Shouting and weaving to the crowd. We to him and he back to us. And the band and the sound was realy very good. And again jealous guy for the instrumental break, he left out Love me madly again that was the only disappointment on a great show. After the break it become even better, have seen Bryan a lot of times but so relaxed he was that night not often, perhaps never. The Belgium atmosphere?? High lights for me: When she walks in the room, All along the watchtower with great guitar work from O.T, Tokyo Joe and the encore Lets stick the long version Ferry up front on a little stage ( very carefully by the way ) and for the first time live Hold on I'm Coming! A great night specially for Rob and Daan and Romy they saw this show for the first time ( Great Holidays, exams etc ) we had A'dam and Antwerp already. They found it fantastic, specially at 2:00 am when the car with Bryan in it stopped ( only we 5 where waiting ) for us and took some time for us to say hi and take picture's and autographs. Rob had the time of his life again! Back to the hotel at 3:00 am.
