Love the sheer casuality of JO'B breaking the news of Kylie's cover of LITD to Roxy members! Great stuff! He just wanted to clear a few things that had been mentioned elsewhere on the net about his album. Andy had said he would give a?full interview when there is more definate things to talk about both albums when they are (almost) finished. Some of the questions I asked had to remain unpubilshed for now which I of course had to respect. ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 21 Jul 2007 13:11:10 +0200 From: "Michiel van Sleen" Subject: Re: [AVALON] Andy Mackay interview on VivaRM Being tight-lipped is fine for a saxophone player, but all the "hush hush" is just what's wrong with the new album: I still can't hear a thing. Why all the secrecy? We're not their enemies. These days he's a more introspective person, a man of few words and seemingly very thoughtful. I just felt his replies were measured. However, he gave away more in that one sentence about being contracted by Virgin to deliver an album next year (but who's album?), than Mr F has done in the past year or so, although it does seem to confirm what F told me in New York (shame on me for having doubts, and double shame that I still harbour them). Great news too that Andy's talking about touring his forthcoming material at festivals next year - hopefully with his recording musicians including TGPT, whom I for one have missed greatly on the Ferry tour. That said, after Audley End I should eat my Treacy fedora after Andy Newmark performed out of his skin. Maybe he was auditioning for this weekend's Lovebox gig by Sly and the Family Stone. Thanks O'B for bringing us the words of The Great Riff. I look forward to reading the unadulterated version later.
