Even Country Life, which looks like a straight typeface, I think is hand-drawn. This was very much the practice back then, when typography & logography(?) was a much more organic, hand-crafted discipline. As to which faces were used as inspiration, I'm far too lazy to research. Elsewhere in magazine land, there is a less than stellar write-up of 'Dylanesque' in an unusually critical 'Record Collector' review - two stars and an "if you're so good why, then, don't you show it ?" tagline.
