The cover "in n atura" looks a bit better than the previous WWW displays. Still sub-standard, however. I like the general idea of Bryan in black & white to a colourful backdrop, though. But why didn't they use the shot leaning at the piano?? Good album, by the way. Not among the *very* best, but still really good to my ears. Like the way he Schopenhauerized "Positively 4th St.", which, along with my fav "All Along the Watchtower", would make my all-time BF top 20. I prefer the cover now that I am used to it, I would still have much preferred something that didn't look like a fan had gone mad with photoshop. It still looks a bit like a bootleg to me. Maybe a nice close up of Ferry holding a harmonica... Unlike Simon Puxleys liner notes on the 1st RM album, which while ambiguous/exciting and tempting, set the tone of the opening bars of Re-Make/Re-Model to the closing Bitter's End. Morley just tries to sound interesting and important, and should go back to his ever self important ZTT stable and write for T shirts." Having failed to get word out on time on the Profile on Sky Performance last month, I can now add to that list the RTL-filmed ATGB from Brussels which was shown on Sky Arts this morning. My previous complete recording of this was lost to a Sky+ hardware failure (along with Roxy on TOTP2) However the good news is it's on again on Thursday at 11.30am (ch267 or 268 if you have HD). I rather like this concert, recalls the beginning of an exciting time in the Ferry/Roxy history. A great band and a great album too. Definitely worth setting the Sky+/video. I promised some folk a copy of my Dundee snaps. Half are lost due to memory card corruption, but will get round to sending the rest soon. Dundee/Glasgow were very good. Had a good snigger at Glasgow when in response to Ferry commenting on having made an effort with the tartan trews, at the next quiet break, a couple of "ladies of a certain age" were heard to shout "hey Bryan, where did ye get those troosers?" followed by her pal with "Ya big Honey, Ye" The sheer lust conveyed in the tone of that latter comment (perfectly timed in response to her pal's inane interjection) spoke volumes to those around her: the hair may be thinning, the voice may be struggling, 62 may be beckoning, but is he past it? To this there is only one possible answer. AYE RIGHT! Leo Abraham was wandering around in the foyer before the show looking as though he was trying to find someone. I suspect he may have been contemplating going outside for a pre-concert fag. Aren't our anti-smoking laws great? He promised a few surprises from the previous night's set list. Seemed like a good guy. In a similar vein, when I arrived at Dundee the night before Ollie was outside having a puff (looking like he might have struggled to convince the shopkeeper he was old enough to buy ciggies.) For those with concerts still to come: have a great time. So, Dylanesque? Positively 4th St - definitely up to scratch ..Heaven's door - yep that'll do Tom Thumb's Blues - struggled at first due to dodgy vocal, but a grower All I really want to do - .is skip this mince Baby let me follow you down - ditto Cheers. Graham. PS Diane - haven't forgotten your disk, just screwed up the first attempt and need to do it all again. ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 14 Mar 2007 00:36:23 -0500 From: "J. Kaufman" Subject: [AVALON] Can't get Dylanesque I ordered Dylanesque (import) from Amazon when it became available for preorder. Just before the ship date, but after the UK release date, Amazon changed my ship date to mid-April. They now say shipping will take 4 to 6 weeks. I cancelled my order & ordered from a place that said they would ship Wednesday. I just got an e-mail from them that cancelled that order altogether. Can someone here please buy Dylanesque & ship to me here in the US? I will of course pay all expenses incurred. The only US release date I've been able to find is June 19 and I don't want to wait that long. This has been soooo frustrating. Anyone willing to assist, please reply offlist.
