I take it Roxy weren't asked to do the Diana thing, just Ferry..............or was it Ferry who didn't ask them. Could have been good exposure since the new album is supposedly out late 2007. Have a good New Year folks, it could even be a year with a FERRY and a ROXY NEW release. And when was the last time that happened eh? 73? 75? He has seldom, if ever, produced rubbish to his great credit. Even with blindfolds and 24/7 play time I don't think You Are My Sunshine would make my desert island disc I'll reserve judgment till the thang drops. Regards, R Deagle Speaking of Dogs! Yeah I know its sad but I'm a mad totally biased fan, no objective logic applies to the Cool Ruler in my book. Well apart from frustration at his output. I had to have a few listens to Bete Noire and ATGB before they sunk in. As for bad tracks sure he's done quite a few but there's never been an album that I think is a total dog. Another Time Another Place is close enough but still had The In Crowd, Smoke Gets in your Eyes, It Aint me Babe and the title track. Back to the tank to enjoy Lowlands Low....... - -----Original Message----- From: owner-avalon@smoe.org [mailto:owner-avalon@smoe.org] On Behalf Of DEAGLERR@aol.com Sent: 28 December 2006 17:01 To: avalon@smoe.org Subject: Re: [AVALON] Dylanesque Why did the phrase mind control suddenly pop into my head? Firstly, El Manzanera is featured on a single for the first time in a while - a live cover of 'Arnold Layne' released by David (never Dave) Gilmour. Two versions on the (apparently, limited edition) disc - one with David Bowie, the other with Rick (sometimes Richard) Wright. 'B'-side (or maybe 'C'-side ?) is another Barrett composition, 'Dark Globe' (a song first featured on 'The Madcap Laughs', of course). Secondly, erstwhile Great War history scholar and author Alan MacDonald features in a CD release of Matching Mole BBC radio sessions due for release in January, on the Hux label, entitled 'On The Radio'. I don't know how much it overlaps (or completely supersedes) the previous Windsong 'BBC In Concert' disc but perhaps the author of the liner notes could fill us in ? S8^) Regards, Ivor n.p.
