He personifies exactly the type of middle class character that George Orwell scathingly wrote about in the 30`s in his works such as "The Road to Wigan Pier". His input on Question Time a while back and his subsequent "artistic" works have convinced me that he is right up his own *rse! The music was mixed by Isaac Ferry & Tim Roe . Particularly like how the "Main Thing" beat is assumed for the first part of the latter half of the piece. Thanks, John! Just what I needed - something creative from Mr. Ferry to stoke my stove. Best wishes, KBP ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 7 Dec 2006 00:22:55 +0100 From: "michiel" Subject: Re: [AVALON] BryanFerry.com This Untitled (or 'Unsung'?) song also shows us he doesn't need Dylan at all. The first part is reminiscent of Rain Rain Rain, then Boys and Girls, then South Downs sounds era and the second half is The Main Thing. I like it a lot, but at a certain point you can hear Ferry singing for a quarter of a second before the music is faded out and replaced by another part of The Main Thing. Sloppy! Not something the Hula Kula - beg pardon - the Cool Ruler would do.
