I told him there would be some disquiet if Ferry rolled out the standard set with two or three newly recorded tracks, but Leo believes the tour will consist of "at least 50% material from the new album" in the style of ATGB (although rehearsals don't start until February). He couldn't say anything more as he says Ferry still keeps everything very much to his chest (which I interpret as meaning to the last minute) and hasn't even confirmed the tour dates to the band yet. Leo said he would definitely push for maximum content not usually and previously trawled out before the public. It'll be intersting for me if he does actually do one of these By the way: two great, great Dylan covers are a slow 'Shelter from the Storm' by French singer-songwriter Francis Cabrel (as 'S'abriter de l'orage,' on his album *Les Beaux Digbts*) and a powerful 'Blind Willie McTell' by Elliott Murphy (live only the studio version on *La Terre commune* is disappoiting). Here's to Ferry's project standing the comparison with these two! I agree that albums should have two sides, it seems to make them more 'balanced' and there should always be another side to every story ;-) But seriously Antoine, I don't think all this is pointless, as it fuels our anticipation for Ferry's next album and in the mean time makes us remember how great Dylan is. I began to wonder if David Hinkcley had mixed up Bryan and Brian in writing about the broadcast but the interviewer for Off the Record turns out to be Dave Stewart, so perhaps not. Perhaps an Avalonian has caught the show and could comment? (I don't think I get this channel over here.) Try the link below for the schedule. I'm quieter because I'm a lot busier outside the office these days. cjm p.s. Since I'm here, I'll share my good news of my recent engagement. :-) ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ End of avalon-digest V11 #277 ***************************** ======================================================================== For further info, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: info avalon-digest
