Doesn't sound Ferryish at all. For some reason I'd always assumed that Ferry's co-writers were composers only, and that the lyrics were always 100% his. A few days ago it was mentioned that 'I Thought' could be mostly Eno's words and now comes this one about Dave Stewart. Is there reliable information somewhere about how Ferry actually collaborates with other songwriters? I would certainly be interested in knowing a little more about this topic. The Dylan album is good news to me. Although I don't think much of Ferry's early covers of his songs, the ones on *Frantic* are pretty good. There aren't many Dylan covers around that can stand the comparison with the originals but these two do very well in my opinion (as do some by this 'uncool' Rod Stewart guy mentioned here a while back, by the way). I wonder if we'll get more recent material than what Ferry's recorded so far (i.e. songs from the 1970s and beyond); it would be interesting to hear his take on 'To Make You Feel My Love,' for instance it could even make for a commercial enough single. Wouldn't a clearly labelled 'Ferry sings Dylan' tour actually work better in the States than in the UK? But perhaps the tour is not going to be that just regular Ferry setlists with a few Dylan songs thrown in to promote the release. I won't be able to make it to the UK to check, anyway so I'm counting on this list for the details (not that I expect to be disappointed in that respect!). Judging from the upcoming concerts, it might be a reminder that they occasionally feature quality music. sniff I mean ASIA... Jethro Tull (with orchestra).... Nice to see Mr. George O'dowd is out of rehab, again. I thought that I thought was Bryan's lyric, if you get my drift. Indeed I concur with your thinking that most / all the co-writing credits had outsider's contributing music while El Ferranti supplied lyrics etc. Look at these: The Right Stuff (definitely Marr music, Ferry lyrics) Song For Europe (Fairly sure Mackay music, Ferry lyrics ... and this goes for all Ferry / Mackay, Ferry / Manzo...) Rock Of Ages (Surely Chris Thomas's music) I Thought (I think its Eno's melody...lyrics too personal and poetic for domehead) C'mon John O'B, you must have a clue about this thread!
