At times, he seemed almost workmanlike as he glanced down at the set list before launching into another song. When the music started, however, he was fully engaged. Even though he left Pixies favorites such as "Where Is My Mind?" out of the mix, there was an exuberant take on Bryan Ferry's "Re-Make/Re-Model." Otherwise, Black kept the focus in the present tense with songs from the new album and last year's Honeycomb. The latter album yielded the closing "Sing For Joy," another song that took on new life on stage. Above Block's frisky rhythm, the song lived up to its name, no matter how many people were in the room. ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ End of avalon-digest V11 #248 ***************************** ======================================================================== For further info, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: info avalon-digest
