And I think we Avalonians should take it as a compliment that many of the video clips that were treed here in the VHS-past are now released on DVD. Hurray to we-know-who!! :-))) And indeed I'm curious about the remastering too. My DVD-copy of the Sweden concert has a "mono-wall-of-sound" to it, totally inferior to my CD-copy of "Why do you think I'm a funky Chic?" http://www.roxyrama.com/classic/releases/unauthorised/cd/whydoyouthinkimafunkychick.shtml Maybe some of us can tree an 'extended' DVD with the whole concert. Anyone interested? Has everyone seen wat John O'Brien has added to vivaroxymusic.com on October 18th? > I can confirm that the double DVD set planned by Virgin will not be > released this year. Also it seems that much of the DVD is following the template of the Total Recall video, which I think would be further a welcome release too. I'm surprised the Stockholm footage is being used as it feels a bit flat to me and I believe the Wembley footage is available and always seemed to be iconic with respect to the video screens and viva, atmosphere, terrible backing singers etc. Maybe it's a quality issue. What I'd really like to see, is video footage of some of the early concert performances, which we had a clip of 2Would You Believe" in Total Recall. The video collection was avaliable in the US on dvd and is an ok direct transfer of the VHS but still excludes some of the key videos: ie: no More Than This or Avalon! It's a pity that the Platinum Collection (a pretty definitive 3 disc compilation with marvellous sleeve notes) didn't have an accompanying dvd release with the videos/live performances in chronological order ala the excellent 2 disc Best of Bowie set.
