Such a huge voice from such a sparrow of a lass. Surprised us all with an encore of The Only Face and Your Painted Smile. No! No! Sorry that's a great big fib, but you live in hope. Actually she encored with a very soulfull sparse version of Oasisiss's Don't Look Back in Anger recognisable only by the lyrics. I hate that dreary song, but she made it sound ethereal. She was so wasted and mixed far too far back in her sessions with Ferry, I would have loved to have heard her distinctive tones cutting through more. More live music tonight. Let's see if Missy Elliott can balls it up. I'll be struggling to make a Roxy connection tomorrow, but I'm sure there's a glaringly obvious degrees of seperation thang I've missed. The same blankness occurred at Oslo, and I couldn't wait for the song to end even though Mikey had done well with the whirring white noise. It's the first time I felt stranded in time, and that the audience hadn't a clue what the song was meant to be. I'd only sing it again under hypnosis - and that's a promise." Michael Bracewell's long awaited book is now titled: Re-make/Re-model: Art, Pop And The Making of Roxy Music 1953-1973 This is long delayed (a familar story for all things Roxy/Ferry connected) and I expect (but don't know for sure) it has been put back to correspond with the new album. Whatever happens it can only be better than the last few written efforts. In the meantime, I heartily recommend Bracewell's 'The Nineties' which features a superb set of Roxy interviews.
