Interesting that, given she finally got a clip-on mic so she can move and play at the same time, she suddenly played just like Chris Mercer! It's never worked for me :) Ah but then, you've never worn a tight sheath dress to help you hit the high notes have you Lee? Or have you?!! And bizarrely she wasn't even in sync with the backing tape, which made me wonder if she was just "The lass from the Zutons" looky-likey (even though I knew she was the lass from the Zutons really). Feeble, flat vocals. Really great harmonica solo though. Come on Bry let's have a niche Bryan Blows Harp solo album - you know you've got it in you! A bit of the same old scene, with what looked like seg-wayed old footage of ladies wot lunch shaking their moneymakers (the old boys sitting alongside them wearing shades and embarrassed creased faces)from the Albert Hall benefit thingy Ferry did sometime ago. Some nice frocks, but the Robert Palmer band shtick is wearing a bit thin now. And hilariously again, Ferry not wearing Armani at an Armani showcase after Ferry not wearing Burberry in the Burberry ads (as pointed out by Jonathan a while back) and Ferry not being seen dead in a Marks and Sparks suit publicly). Jocelyn Now saving for a Roland Mouret diffusion line - it's just got to happen - probably as safe a bet as the Roxy album being shelved for another year ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 28 Sep 2006 05:46:53 -0400 From: jocelynfiske@aol.com Subject: Re: [AVALON] Roxy remixes >I excitedly took delivery of my copy of the Roxy Remixes #01 vinyl last night. I'm pretty sure I saw whoever she was from Zutons take a breath in the middle of the solo where there isn't one. And her cheeks didn't blow out like Andy's do when he's soloing. Let's Stick Together made it to our screens courtesy of Ch4, but he was also reported to have performed Love Is The Drug - old stalwarts or what? Two numbers and off...... And isn't it time they took Sarpong outside and shot her? What a choice of (fawning) presenter!!! God awful programme for five mins of mimed band and maestro doing LST - harrumph!! Not good value for money. IMHO Cheers all Andy P.S. belated birthday fun to 'wor Bry' ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 28 Sep 2006 16:27:43 +0200 (CEST) From: robert@rwhiteford.freeserve.co.uk Subject: Re: [AVALON] UK, Tonight on C4 - 23:05 - 00:10 - 27th September Hmmmnn. Who wants to start a tree of this rarity? I don't think the sound mix done him any favours as his voice didn't really blend in with the music so emphasized the weakness. There didn't seem to be any drums at all. I wondered if the other two girls were singers or dancers roped in to make it look more glamorous? I would be curious to know how Abi from The Zutons ended up "playing" the sax in the background? Is she a mate of the other young pups.............did Bry give her a call(she is young & brunette!).................did she sneak on from backstage without anyone noticing???? As she is one of few sax players around in current bands I often wonder if she is a fan of Andy or has been influenced by him at all. When getting my tape ready to record I looked back at the Fashion Rocks performance and it still stands out as one of the best entrances I have ever seen from Ferry. The way he sauntered down the three steps totally in time with the girls and the music was magical. They were lit from behind at first which made it so dramatic. It was so sleek and stylish and he looked so happy and relaxed in that one, not a drop of sweat in sight, nothing like last night!! I can watch that clip over and over again.
