The original point you made was that you were glad Ferry didnt have a slick media machine. Indeed. There's something very English and very, very cool about it. I guess because it's such a laid back approach. When the time comes to promote, he will promote. Look at the ATGB album: he even shared a stage with the aforementioned Jim Davidson on the National Lottery Show. No, I'm not part of the management and no, I don't think I could do a better job of it. The common factor in all this is Ferry, who is forceful in doing things his way. And I wouldn't have it any other way. If I was, obviously I would advise him to release at least 4 more compilations before an album of new material* sometime in 2009. J * New as in a selection of tracks from Horoscope and Alphaville just so fans could do that curious thing and shout 'Foul! This isn't new material.' It is one thing I've always found very odd. Just because you may have heard a bootleg of say, Love War, isn't Bryan's fault. It should be a new track when you hear it on official release and there's no point bloody well moaning just because you have chosen to take a sneaky peak behind the Wizards curtain. What is a new track? Should he have recorded it the morning of release perhaps? ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 18 Sep 2006 23:31:37 +0200 From: "michiel" Subject: Re: [AVALON]M&S/other junk Flattering as it is that you care/dare to call me fat, I beg to differ. I can;t square the appear with Ed the Duck,Jim D and Twiggy when "the time comes to promote" with defeaning slience on Bete Noire for example. You don't have to be a vet to shoot a horse though, and there remains a legitimate suspicion that Ferrys closest tell him what he wants to hear rather than what he would benefit from hearing. Me? - If I worked for him and my mortgage didnt depend on it - I'd tell him that he' s he most talented and original artist I've heard.
