Speaking of straight lines - Can anybody lucky enough to get Bryans autograph from now on please post to list telling us whether he has retained his shapely M&S signature for use on us mere punters? Anyway the Canterbury store has some well impressive big pics of the cool ruler on the wall. Can he really be 61? Money talks these days (but does love still burn?) so shouldnt Uncle Bryan be thinking about a release now to capitalise on this exposure? Though the Scissors sisters were great on JR btw - this second album is crucial. For your Pleasure was of course better than Roxy Music, but Franz Ferdinands second not so successful. It will be yet another tale of missed opportunity if Roxy don;t release stuff written with the SS's - do they want to be successful or not? More cool than anyone I have ever seen. The point is can he get anything out in time to capitalise on his new exposure? You think he can, maybe you know. I think history tends to show he will deliver great albums long after most of the public, not us faithful few, want to hear them. So cool as he is, and as utterly incapable I am of rushing him, in my view he still needs a rocket up his backside. Cos I want to see his coolness and his genius recognised by a whole new Joe Public. And if Ferry says he doesnt, I don;t believe him. Things are always happening, but they never happen. Which wouldnt frustrate me If I Didn't Care. He's done an advertising campaign for M&S not won Celebrity Big Brother! I prefer the fact that Ferry isn't part of a slick marketing machine that bores people to death with meeja suffocation before anybody gets the chance to hear the music. (I'm programmed to forget adverts immediately after they've transmitted.) Yes Guy, it is easy to forget, so whilst I remember it, Bryan sang Don't Stop The Dance to an add for Dressmann last night on TV2. Dressmann is Norway and Scandinavia's largest clothing chain within men's fashion. The chain has stores in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Iceland, Finland, Germany and Latvia. By the way... Now I remember I have forgotten to tell that a while ago TV2 had a documentary about commercials. Here we got a reprise of the old commercial about Viagra, where elderly people were dancing at a cafi bar or something. A couple is obviously falling in love, and they order a box of Viagra by cell phone, promptly delivered at the door. BF is of course singing I'm In The Mood For Love to it all. ..Well, not absolutely all I guess. The song lasts only 4:20, and to think this was about Viagra ... When I come to think of it, why didn't they chose Avalon and saved their money ;) Kari ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 18 Sep 2006 08:45:31 +0200 From: "michiel" Subject: [AVALON] Re: Jerry rehabilitated I've finally read Jerry Hall's Tall Tales and have to admit she sounds very sympatyhetic.
