Kate Moss has been signed on by underwear giant Agent Provocateur to be on the cover of their latest advertising campaign. The first ad, a short four-minute film, features Kate in bed, dressed in all-black, in a pair of tiny briefs, a corset, bra, sexy tights and a pair of leather gloves. Click onto the company's website link to see the first in a series of four. It is not yet known if it will be aired on television. Kate is even more daring in the third film of the Agent Provocateur "Miss X" series, in which she strips off naked. The series is being directed by Hollywood filmmaker Mike Figgis http://www.agentprovocateur.com/miss_x/shadows.php Surely Bryan could have squeezed in a little cameo role here? ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 8 Sep 2006 15:17:48 +0100 From: "Bryan" Subject: RE: [AVALON] Marks & Spencer At the risk of ostracising myself is this what this list has been reduced to? An ageing bunch of "wannabees" - who haven't been provided with any new musical material since Frantic - chasing the sartorial exploits of our one time shining star as he reluctantly approaches his dotage!!!! Thirty years ago I was up there with anyone and everyone attempting to guess what BF's new appearance would produce - that was half the fun of being a Roxy/Ferry fan. Now, I don't really care - because it doesn't seem to be about the music any more, unless it's more repackaging of all the old stuff. When I heard that a new album might be in the offing I felt the old flush of excitement, but far too soon that diminished as I realised that this has been promised far too many times! Come on Bryan, let's have one last hurrah - there were plenty of hints on Frantic that you are still more than capable of delivering - before it's too late and let us all again relive that first flush of all things Roxy......... Here's hoping, Bryan ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 8 Sep 2006 11:28:18 EDT From: KWil632057@aol.com Subject: [AVALON] New Roxy Album? First things first...../TOKION mag interview There is a brief mention of the "new album" in a teaser paragraph from the lead-in spread preceding a 2 page Bryan Ferry interview in issue 54/September '06 of the U.S. fashion-culture-music magazine "TOKION Creativity Now". There are two rather decent B&W shots, the first he's in shades/hands in trousers, and the other, in which he's clasping a copy of Country Life to his chest. The mouth is pursed in both, as if an imaginary toothpick is being held. Text and photos by Terry Richardson The lead-in paragraph goes: "Bryan Ferry is more man than you will ever be. And if you're a girl and that sounds stupid, well, then he's more man than your boyfriend or your dad will ever be. Just accept it. So it was perhaps no surprise that, when we asked about the much-hyped reunion of Roxy Music's original lineup, Ferry tersely replied, " We've got on with it." What they've 'got on with' is a sequel to their legendary 1982 album Avalon, complete with the band's original, once-feathered, electronic wizard, Brian Eno." That is the extent of any discussion of the "new album" within the interview. The balance of the article touches on everything from his hitchhiking to London to see Otis Redding in concert, his top fave Roxy songs, Jerry Hall & Prairie Rose, and the current artists of today he listens to (Antony & the Johnsons, Broken Social Scene, Arcade Fire and India.Arie). There is a magazine website but nothing concerning this current issue has been posted. There is a partial interview with the self-described militant atheist Brian Eno posted there however. That URL is: www.tokion.com/site/index.html Enjoy!
