Just a quick note to say hello from Dublin 24 hours before the first Roxy gig. I drove up from Cork yesterday after spending 10 days motoring over hill and dale through out the Cork, Kerry and Limerick (Irish ) countryside. Spent last night with friends north of Dublin in Drogheda and drove into the capital this afternoon. Itbs been a good few years since I was behind the wheel of a car in Dublin traffic and todaybs prime time drive had me at the Gresham bar shortly after check in. Very much looking forward to seeing the all usual suspect and very eager to see if we have a few new additions to the show. All the very Best to Paul and a shame he has to sit out these few shows but much better he spend the time proper and be 100% for when it counts. Best to All Hope to see you there John Dillon ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 6 Jul 2006 21:22:23 +0100 From: Richard Evans Subject: [AVALON] Dublin review Hi all Some thoughts on the Dublin show 1. Good set - see JOB's site for details 2. Pyjamarama was the best 3. Thought the backing singers ruined Song for Europe and Jealous Guy 4, Andy Newmark did a great job and was great on Pyjamarama 5. Ollie, the third guitarist looked about 12 6. Leo Abrahams is a real find 7. Andy Mackay was on fire 8. Phil was rather quiet I thought 9. They looked as though they were having a great time 10. All in all one of the best and most relaxed Roxy shows I've seen 11. I was impressed with Guy Pratt 12. Bryan was in good voice Help with a tree if anyone can provide the raw material. Cheers Richard ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 06 Jul 2006 19:06:00 -0400 From: johnobrien001@aol.com Subject: [AVALON] Ireland Just a very quick note, will write more tomorrow, my guiness is getting warm down stairs: Dublin was a bit scrappy as would be expected due to the band having to go through last minute band changes and everyone was on edge. Cork was so much better, the band where as tight as I have heard them. Leo Brahams played the Eddie Jobson violin solo on his guitar note for note he seems to fit in well with Roxy and as was pointed out a real find. Ollie Thompson is only 18 but put in a fine performance too and another great find. J.O'B. ________________________________________________________________________ Check out AOL.com today.
