Eno is a risk taker, and that is what propels him forward; he is very good at self-promotion, and this sets him apart from Ferry. Like it or not, Mr. Ferry's current day influence on the music scene is waning: Musically, he takes little risk. His persona is very reserved. His output sporadic, and he remains insulated by working with and collaborating with relatively few people when compared to Eno. Having written that, I must reiterate, "I Love Bryan Ferry's Work!" Best wishes. Now I'm riled - "The 39 Steps" is steeped with suspense and dangerous appeal - - it seers with synthetic 'Take an uninhibited chance. Who cares - I don't. I just want uncomplicated sex and you get whatever.' Not dull. Not dull. Not dull at all, Martino! Spoiler alert!!!! Read no further if you haven't seen the film! Because I watched it last week end and I thought I had read that Bryan was a club manager or something. In this, has a three minute appearance as a homicidal John trolling for young boys. Beyond that, I thought it was a pretty lousy movie - ha! He even giggled at Eno's jokes. So today I played the re-issue of My Life In The Bush Of Ghosts as we drove somewhere. Showing a preternaturally intelligent interest in the sleeve notes (OK, so I am a proud parent), he looked up and said "I like Brian Eno, he makes weird music. There should be an award for weird music and he'd win it". Darn right. Best wishes Richard Mills Baby Makin' Music (terrible title) - Isley Brothers (featuring still the exemplary Ron Isley who, at 65, still sings like a man in his prime) ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 13 May 2006 18:29:57 EDT From: KWil632057@aol.com Subject: Re: [AVALON] Awards for weird music Right, that's it, I'm phoning Childline....
