It will be no problem to copy for those who wish to receive their own copy. I must tell you, though, that this is a rather poor quality offering. It has some interesting items, and was obviously a "labour of love" for someone who patched together a collage of video tapes. It certainly is watchable though. I repeat: a.) My name is Michael McClelland b.) My post address is: 2 Brook House 83A Acacia Road Leytonstone London E113PQ c.) My mobile number is:+44 (0)791 041 0820 d.) Send me a blank (good quality) DVD-R, with a self-addressed postage-paid protective package & I will burn & return. I attempted to catalogue what is on it: A Perfumed Sigh 1.) Cheesy Intro ... (poor video) 2.) Kiss & Tell (introduced by Danny di Vito!) (poor video, & fluttery audio) 3.) The Thrill Of It All (poor video, & fluttery audio and an inexplicable mixup for a few seconds with Three and Nine) 4.) Havana Moon (cut short) 5.) Mother Of Pearl 6.) Amazona 7.) The Big Breakfast Interview (Taxi) 8.) Interview (Bete Noire) Poor audio 9.) This Is Tomorrow 10.) Making of Mamouna 11.) Both Ends Burning (poor video, & fluttery audio) 12.) Lorelei (Explorers) 13.) Interview?; time of Boys & Girls (Avalon) (Sign of The Times) (Same Old Scene) (Do The Strand) 14.) Interview Norwich Comic Relief? 15.) A Song For Europe (Live, c.1980?) 16.) Interview Anthony Price (A Hard Rain ... 17.) Boys And Girls 18.) Eno (King's Lead Hat?) 19.) I Put A Spell On You 20.) Interview? 21.) Art Guide (Love Is The Drug) (These Foolish Things) (2HB) (Jealous Guy) 22.) Ladytron 23.) ...Because You're Mine 24.) Interview .. (Will You Still Love Me ..) 25.) Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow? 26.) In Every Dream Home A Heartache 27.) Buque (Hotel Episode?) (Editions Of You) (Do The Strand) 28.) Interview ... Live Aid 29.) Live Aid (Sensation) 30.) Interview Durham? (Midnight Hour) (Jealous Guy) 31.) Mamouna 32.) Jools Holland? (As Time Goes By) (Falling In Love Again) 33.) You Do Something To Me There has been no attempt to setup a nice menu structure, so basically it just runs. You can at least skip tracks etc. even though there is no list of "chapters" on-screen. I am toying with the idea of re-authoring it, and providing some decent menus, but quite frankly I don'y think the quality warrants it. I will make another suggestion in a later posting. _________________________________________________________________ Express yourself instantly with MSN Messenger! If there is enough interest from you all I am prepared to put together a reasonable DVD with navigable menus etc. provided I have better source material. What I would ask is that those of you who have any decent quality video recordings of TV interviews, shows etc. please send them to me and I will convert to DV (digital video) as soon as possible. Even better, some of you may already have some decent material in digital format already ... I also need some advice so as not to be treading on copyright toes. Any ideas? Cheers Mikal _________________________________________________________________ Express yourself instantly with MSN Messenger! He disbanded them, that's a difference. Without Ferry, and presumably also without Manzanera and Mackay.... no Roxy Music. Now what does Roger Waters say? Please say it isn't so! But alas apparently it is. Even the remarkably remiss "official site" says it is so. The chagrin is lightened somewhat by the fact that the "News Update" on the official site speaks in the past tense of the 2005 live dates and announces the new tour for 2006 with a link to the tour dates page which still lists them in the future tense. The project took me 8 months, and I was assisted by many on this list. Yes it was a labour of love but also a thrilling journey as jiffy bags arrived at my home with jewels from around the world. The quality of the recordings is variable - that's the nature of the game - but you'll see that I focussed upon rare and unusual TV recordings of interviews and live footage. I was told recently that a copy had fallen into BF's lap and that he had been amazed and charmed by this souvenir of his work. Good luck trying to source better quality recordings. I shall follow your progress with great interest. It's worth remembering that: The "Spell On You" mixes on the cd single were pretty good. The originals aren't being destroyed. You will always have them. If the likes of Tiga is involved it is likely to be a high quality product. No dodgy german djs (sorry Germany!) If one of the remakes (a staple part of Ferrys career, of course) is a hit in the clubs we can say hi to a higher profile for the band as well as the possibility of new fans. There's still a new album coming out. We might get the chance to hear Nelle Hoopers version of These Foolish Things that Jim Lawn told us was so wonderful on the old offical site. Why moan? You wait the best part of 20 years for a Roxy album and two come at once! At least it isn't another greatest hits package. A copy recently found it's way into the hands of a hugely successful music dvd producer who was amazed by the obvious hard work and effort that went into the production. She told me that professional sourcing alone would have cost thousands without any of the restoration and other production costs. So Michael, I think we all look forward to seeing you put your money where your mouth is...
