Nice interviews and TOTP footage. Interesting to hear Phil explaining how important he felt the band were in realisng Ferry's concepts. I wonder if that relationship still stands? The usual factual errors crept in though: Ferry, the son of a miner? I thought Mr Ferry looked after the pit ponies or have I been gravely mistaken all these years? Not sure that that Roxy were as much of a glam band as the programme would have us believe. Loved the footage of the Roxy fans dancing infront of the picture of Bryan on the Wicker chair. - nice! Brave of them to include a brief clip of Gary Glitter on the show as well. J ps: Browns in Islington played the ATGB album in its entirety at lunchtime yesterday... The TOTP footage was of course ,2001 , not 2005. And good to see PM ,AM and David Endthoven interviewed to add to the fun. Whether Roxy were Glam, though ,is a debate for another time. anyway PM on Jonathon Ross 's Radio 2 show was quite adamant that the album would not be out this year despite JR 's exultations that many of us will have passed on by the time the record sees the light of day. Philip PS good old JR, as the slot probably was designed for David Gilmour. Ross said that Roxy were by far the better band than Pink Floyd. ___________________________________________________________ Tiscali Broadband from 14.99 with free setup! http://www.tiscali.co.uk/products/broadband/ ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 04 Mar 2006 22:29:38 +0000 From: "Michael McClelland" Subject: RE: [AVALON] 3rd call: Perfumed Sigh DVD re-offer Hello Dan I personally can watch NTSC (non-PAL) DVDs. Can copy as well, including removing region security code. But you raise an interesting point: are other Avalonians for whom we may burn in UK & Europe going to be able to watch NTSC?
