Which is a shame given his position following Boys and Girls. I maintain if he had followed that in 1986 quickly with ATGB all would have been well. The new album doesn't exactly seem to have captured the imagination of the band does it? Cheers Rob (still listening to the Karaoke disc!) ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 06 Feb 2006 05:01:04 -0500 From: KWil632057@aol.com Subject: RE: [AVALON] It's 'Official' ' 2007 looks the best bet' There are a few things that I'd like to disclose, but as I am sworn to secrecy, you will have to let me assure you that everything going surprisingly well. Why, Jonathan, we wouldn't doubt you! When I was a young child, the richest man in Texas wore torn jeans, a sweat stained straw hat, dusty abraded boots; he drove an old dented and rusty pickup! His man was King. He owned a great deal of The Lone Star State, and his herds of cattle casually roamed his vast fenceless range that was dotted by stolid, ever-working oil pumps. When I was an undergraduate at the University of Colorado, Boulder, the was a Texan. His man was Braun. He drove a Ferrari and Turbo Porsche, he had a fine mountain home, a hot-tub (- OK, it was the 70's). He was fast, and handsome. And the IRS was hot on his trail. When I was 28, I met a very intelligent, hard working, honest, moderate man. I married him. I have never regretted my decision because I know looks may be deceiving, and I much prefer those who walk softly over the noisy ones. Best wishes. KBP PS and On-Topic: This is why I admire Bryan Ferry. He came from out of nowhere, had an idea, worked hard in a dirty business, saved, and I'd like to think, is a good and decent person. Proven otherwise, I'd leave the list in a heartbeat! ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 6 Feb 2006 21:23:42 +0000 From: philip77@tiscali.co.uk Subject: [AVALON] Its not official so lets wait... A lot of negativity on the list recently ... maybe the wait for a new Roxy album is too much for some people. Others have expressed concern that a new Roxy Music album may be unwelcome , too much of a risk - what if it became a critical and commercial failure? For my part, i'm prepared to be patient and sit this one out. If it happens, it will happen quickly. If not, so be it. Periodically stuff turns up on Ebay, but it's almost always being sold from Europe and is way overpriced. If someone would like to trade, please shoot me an email. I don't recall if I'm violating Avalon policy by asking for this, but apologies if I am. Also, was 801 live ever filmed or videotaped or is there is any known footage of Eno performing from the 1970s? I'm seeking this for research on an essay regarding British and German avant garde pop/rock from the 1970s. - --------------------------------- Yahoo!
