So they have to start all over again. Again. Better late than never, though." Amen! Must Do or Die! But I question if corresponding 'hoopla' would be commercially provided by a record label in a magnitude needed to promote a new release to platinum status in many counties, especially the US market: Greased palms only go so far, (and I think we agree that commercial success doesn't necessarily mean artistic success) the Money has commercial acumen - entertainment investors want high returns on their monies. Does anyone know, if there is capital available willing to produce and market a new Roxy Album? "Management, I think, has little to do with this - it's to do with personal focus." You may be correct. I was jesting about a 65th birthday release, heck I thought about 70th but that was too out there. Certainly your choosing a potential release in 2007 is very rational and much more plausible than an earlier release. I'm pleased to hear the Roxy boys have work at hand to make ends meet, whatever those ends be. When and if a new Roxy album appears, we shall have to count ourselves fortunate. In the meantime, a fan must take advantage of the various incarnations of their demi-gods, wherever, whenever. Jonathan wrote: "The fact that Ferry can charge #25k for a personal appearance and what do we reckon? 10 or so songs is excellent." Undeniably so. But corporate gigs are not the bastion of fan gatherings - the audience usually displays less adulation than does a group of concert goers. I can't help but perceive the thrill of it all for Bryan Ferry drying up on stage after numerous rounds of playing to a largely inattentive and uncaring group of suits and guests who are operating on their own agenda: He essentially is part of the wallpaper at these functions. How pleasurable is that? I thought most entertainers perform live because of the high they get from an adoring public. Money only goes so far, it doesn't buy happiness, and it satisfies only temporarily. Now, about this bushy tail of yours, Jonathan ... Best wishes. How do you know that people who have spent time and effort tracking down details as to how to hire his services, as well as a small fortune to get him to perform an intimate show for them, don't lap it up? I only ask.... I know for a fact that at shows for the Bamfords, a performance at private launch at Selfridges and a show for Philip Green, he recieved rapturous applause and adulation. Sounds like he's getting his cash and a high. Sounds pretty pleasurable to me!
