Hello Mark hope you enjoy Avalon. I have been a member for many years and although quality of discussion/content comes and goes - between this list, vivaroxymusic.com and roxyrama.com you don't miss much! I don't know anything more than you do - less I think - but some guesses may be of interest. 1. Projected release date this year (2006). THERES ALWAYS HOPE I SUPPOSE! 3. Eno invited to take part in studio work, though he won't tour. He has also contributed some original material. IS THIS FOR CERTAIN? I HOPE SO AS "I THOUGHT" WOULD HAVE BEEN HAILED AN EARLY ROXY CLASSIC HAD IT APPEARED ON FOR YOUR PLEASURE RATHER THAN FRANTIC. THERE IS POTENTIAL FOR THE MUSIC TO BE TOO PREDICTABLE IF ENO ISNT HEAVILY INVOLVED THIS TIME ROUND 4. Rhett Davies (co-)producing? I WISH RHETT DAVIES HAD PRODUCED BETE NOIRE. SOME GREAT MATERIAL HIDDEN IN THERE! 7. Nine tracks recorded in sessions last year. Work recommencing in January, band wanting to have around twice that number of tracks to choose from. I HAD HEARD THIS. IT WORRIES ME THAT THEY WANT "MORE TO CHOOSE FROM" AS IT IMPLIES THEY ARENT HAPPY WITH THE 9 ALREADY DONE. BUT BETTER LATE THAN NEVER AND WORTH WAITING IF THE FINAL PRODUCT IS GOOD. AS ALL FERRY FANS WILL TESTIFY - WE DON'T NEED ANOTHER "TAXI" FROM ROXY MUSIC. 8. Of those nine tracks, seven are reportedly "new". Are the others cover versions, or reworkings of older Roxy stuff? OR ARE THEY JUST PREVIOUSLY UNRELEASED MATERIAL? THERE ARE CERTAINLY SOME REALLY GOOD SONGS ON HOROSCOPE AND ESPECIALLY ALPHAVILLE WHICH WOULD GRACE A ROXY ALBUM, YOUR LOVE HAD DIED, BLINDED BY THE LIFE I'M LIVING, LOVE WAR, YOU CAN DANCE (I'M SURE ENO COULD WORK WITH THAT) AND THE TITLE TRACK. THESE ARE TOO GOOD TO STAY IN THE CAN. ALSO - FERRY WAS RECORDING WITH THE SCISSOR SISTERS LAST YEAR - WHATS COMING OF THAT? - "TAKE YOUR MAMA" SOUNDS LIKE ELTON TO ME! BUT I CAN IMAGINE HIM DOING "LAURA"..............................
