I didn't time it exactly, but 5 minutes and thats your lot! It's a film worth seeing because of the accurate and evocative representation of the period. I'd just turned on the radio and the song was playing. My immediate reaction was to turn it off. But, being the sucker for punishment that I am, I endured merely to find out who it was that was making me wince. About halfway through the (still unknown) song, my other half walked in the room and said "What's that? A really bad Ferry clone?" My husband is not a Roxy/Ferry fan - and says most of that is because he finds Ferry's voice overly-mannered and annoying. Then the announcer introduced the song, named the artist, and played another selection from the album. We listened in morbid fascination. Then - I put on the Spamalot cast recording to rinse our ears with! Other hype? The Lucky Numbers. Just can't see what's so good about them either, but the critics sure do like them. Payola must be back in vogue. ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 15 Jan 2006 23:11:05 -0600 From: MarlanaK@webtv.net (M.M.K.) My first take was to think a guy trying to copy Ferry's voice. The more I listened I knew it wasn't. This is how Anthony delivers his singing. The lyrics of the song "my sister" left me with wondering about this strange looking guy. Hearing him is one thing seeing him is another. Strange, wish someone would do something about that hair of his.
