Lots of Roxy or Ferry recordings to sent you in return. After Rob W his review of A&J mecuryprize performance I listened to some mp3 clips and bought both the albums the next day. Truly wonderful: the best thing I've heard in years. Saw him in concert last week in the Amsterdam Carre. The only dissapointment was that they haven't thought enough about their performance. Bad lightning and the audiance was beter dressed as the band. But Antony has a voice like an angel and the band played very inspired. Chickenskin more than once. Out of the 'twilight zone'; beyond the horizon where fact and fiction merge, there exists a realm of possibilities in which the mind takes flight. Amazingly the zone induces all who leave it to relate stories that, strangely enough, are incredible. My "poetry" post of yesterday is one such example. (Didn't any of you notice? ... Oh, I get it - the politeness factor at work!) It is a pity that Mr. Ferry lost an artful opportunity by not using the under-voiced Rimbaud's "Ophelie" as background for "Falling In Love Again" - then my erroneous but errant post would have made perfect sense. Alas, we must face the fact that "I'm In The Mood For Love" debuted five years after "The Blue Angle" graced the cinema. I apologize for any confusion my earlier post may have caused. Best wishes, KBP ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 18 Dec 2005 08:47:27 EST From: LeeSullivanart@aol.com Subject: Re: [AVALON] Ferry Roxy clips In a message dated 18/12/2005 11:24:16 GMT Standard Time, snijders.geest@hetnet.nl writes: anyone knows how to save these clips? right-click the link and 'save target as' Lee S ____________________________________________ Easily distracted? In the original German version (in: Der Blaue Engel) Marlene sings "Ich bin von Kopf bis Fuss auf Liebe eingestellt" (which roughly translates as: "I was made for loving, from head to toes" or "love is my middle name"). This seems to resemble the line "I'm in the mood for love" closer than "Falling in love again", hence probably our failing to spot the mistake.
