A very good observation, Michiel. Intelligence dashed with good-natured humor is the crhme de la crhme of conversation. The key to true wit, however, is the combination of non-vicious sentiment and slight of tease (i.e. good humor). At best, humor combined with derision is guttural. Even worse, conversations riddled with sniping anger are a waste of everyone's time. You're a smarty - lighten up! Rumor has it that I even have a sense of humor. But I guess I failed to see the hidden humor in this kind of writing. - -------------------- Regrettably though, for me Ms. Hall remains a calculating, shrewd, immoral, heartless, greedy b*tch. - -------------------- which to me, after 10 or so years on this list seemed less fresh than it did the first 1034098489 times I read comments like that. And on top of the endless E.D. posts, well I guess that it's my fault that I just don't have a very au courant sense of humor then. Occasionally some people may have let themselves get carried away a bit. From now on I'll refrain from slurs, slander and slights. I can see how these would get tiresome after a while. And I'll try to see "Jerry" no longer as the enemy. Time for a rehabilitation. Very handy little device. Apparently it doesn't care for Region 0 disks, though. But that's heresay from my live-in stereo expert, and could be remedied by now by setting the machine up properly. The (re)make and (re)model is: DaytekDVD-868V50. Normally $50 CDN, but was on sale for $10 less. I can now buy European DVDs with impunity.
