["Rob Whiteford" Subject: RE: [AVALON] Love Wordplay, Etc. These posts have really made me realise why the lyrics have dried up - they are complex. The words though are just one element - it's the way in which the inflection can change the meaning. KB Porter mentions the 39 steps "Some other Spring - sometime" - a great example as it appears in both final verses, same words, sung ever so slightly differently to give a whole new meaning to the same phrase. I like these wordplays and it's a testament to his talent that the same guy wrote the lyrics to Manifesto and Mother of Pearl. I was listening to the Bride Stripped Bare in the car this morning - I'd forgotten what a great song and lyric This Island Earth is. ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 24 Nov 2005 15:24:41 +0100 From: "A. van Lammeren" Subject: Re: [AVALON] A Perfumed Sigh - call for burners Hi all, After my offer the non-burner DVD's have been promised... You'll be noticed off list soon, that part is closed now. But.... not a single DVD-burner has reacted untill now. So a last and final call to extend this tree. I'm sure you'll make some people very happy. Come on!? I'll wait for one week from now (or when I have three), and will post the burners that have offered to reseed this tree. Tara, Anton.
