Sharon Osborne (Asda mum to you and me!) launches an unprovoked and frankly bitter attack on Ferry in an interview in GQ magazine this month for being a social climber! He's in great company as Mick Jagger also gets the rough side of Sharon's tongue (pity him) as does Madonna. Also in an interview with Status Quo in the Mail yesterday Francis Rossi moaned that he can't get away with wearing white socks but Ferry can! As for Bryan? According to a close source he needs to lose a bit of weight if he's to get back into those leather trousers... Especially computer drives. Despite the movie houses perpetuating the crappy old standards issues by using PAL and NTSC scan rates in the DVD spec to try and give them yet further control over which region gets which movie when and who can play it first, most manufacturers build one machine and then slightly change the firmware to appease the movie houses and only allow the deck to play region 1 or region 2 or whatever depending where the unit is sold. MOST players can be modified to play any region. The APS disc was created without a region so this is not an issue. The only issue is whether your player takes the PAL scan rate and modifies it to NTSC for your telly or not. Computer monitors do not usually have this problem since they do not use (or understand) PAL or NTSC scan rates anyway and the image is interpolated into SVGA or whatver you have set your display to. Try it. The original tree recipients included Karen Gibling in the USA but she went quiet on me and hasn't replied to any emails for ages now (don't know what I did to upset her). If you are in the US and want the disc that I have been saving for Karen (who was going to tree the disc there for y'all) please contact me at GMAIL - NOT HOTMAIL!!!! acooper63@gmail.com. First come first served. Cheers Andy P.S. I still have plans to release trees of Penthouse Perfection and A Rhapsody Divine (Reecey's excellent VHS efforts) but I haven't had a lot of time to do the menus yet. The tapes are encoded onto DVD, I just need to generate the index and thumbnails when I get five minutes (more like hours) - - may be after Christmas now as life is a tad hectic right now............... >From: Jane Fraser >To: "seely31" >CC: >Subject: Re: [AVALON] A Perfumed Sigh >Date: Mon, 7 Nov 2005 15:00:10 +0000 > >Good point Pete. It is equally possible that other Avalonians will want to go to one or more of these. Who knows? Those at the London date might wish to approach me and buy me a drink to celebrate my birthday the day before... 13 Feb Gateshead Sage Arena 15 Feb Manchester Lowry 16 Feb Leicester De Montfort Hall 18 Feb London Kentish Town Forum The song "Waterproof" off the next album ventures further in the tradition of great Sparks music; it should be great entertainment to see Sparks play the new stuff old, while swaying one's head reminiscently to the older material.
