You can't add the Shadows total of non-Cliff featured hits to Cliff's total. Except 'Apache' maybe on which Cliff played (uncredited) bongos. Combining careers would probably make John Lennon number 2 (I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong). Also the following artists totals/positions would increase somewhat: George Michael + Wham Paul Weller + the Style Council + the Jam Michael Jackson + the Jacksons' + the Jackson 5 etc. etc. etc. Alan ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 04 Sep 2005 21:13:10 +0000 From: "Tracy Connell" Subject: RE: [AVALON] 61 Number 61 - not too bad for Roxy I guess. :) Heehee, Elvis Presley is number 1! Yes!!!!!!!!!! But I'm actually suprised Shaky made even 100, but good on him, considering he hasn't been around for about the last 20 years!! That's for sure. The (incomplete) band pic looks like Vic Reeves meets Terry Gilliam: which might be a match made in Heaven if you're after a laugh, but it's not exactly Roxy... Personally I would have gone for pure texture: the quilted pink geometry of the first album interior; or the abstract purple/black/white cityscape of the second... and no text except the words ROXY MUSIC in classic Times. No band pic, no blurb, no sexy girl; just pure atmosphere... Sometimes less is definitely more. ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ End of avalon-digest V10 #216 ***************************** ======================================================================== For further info, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: info avalon-digest
