Folks, images--indeed any sort of attachment--cannot be sent to the list as per the list guidelines. Photos/images will have to be hosted on a webpage and the link posted to the list. One of my favorite periods of Bryan Ferry's work has always been the BRIDE STRIPPED BARE era. There's a raw, searching, restlessness to that music that I've always found bracing and hurtful in a lovely way. At some point-maybe in Johnny Rogan's gossipy bio-I remember reading that Ferry and group had recorded at least a double album's worth of material during the cloistered sessions for the album. "Feel the Need," "Crazy Love," and "Broken Wings" popped up as b-sides. What I've always wondered is.does anyone know if there was more? Has anyone heard it or know what other covers might have been tried? Will any more of this stuff ever see the light of day as rarities on some future box or something? This is a fascinating period (to me, anyway) in BF history. Any stories or info would be most appreciated. Thanks. I'm enjoying the discussions. Four Letter Love (a Ferry original, the b-side of Sign of the Times) and He'll Have to Go (the Audrey & Joe Allison song, made famous by Jim Reeves and others, released on The Ultimate Collection) are also from those sessions. The second of these, together with the three songs you mentioned are only officially available with a glossy, '80s sheen to their mixes - lots and lots of top from the days when top was all that mattered. That suits Boys & Girls and Avalon but the powers that be might consider putting out the original 1970s recordings some time.
