But the choice of Boys & Girls, in particular, was bizarre but endearing. When I heard the first few note of the drum machine, I thought it was Dance Away redone but no. ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 19 Jun 2005 17:41:03 +0100 From: Bahi Para Subject: Re: [AVALON] B. The focus is on the 5.1 remix of a few years back but there's more than that being discussed. It has, I'm sure, been on the list already but I hadn't read it detail and there are probably subscribers here who might not have seen it. http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/aug03/articles/roxymusic.htm "This record probably means more to me than anything I've ever done," says Bob Clearmountain of Roxy Music's last, and most successful, studio album. "I've had more comments and compliments on this album by far than anything else I've ever done." ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 20 Jun 2005 04:56:43 +0200 From: "Kari Solberg" Subject: [AVALON] Norwegian Wood - and Roxy were Great!! Yeah, it was great! They were all happily smiling, specially Bryan and Phil! No need to be afraid for the new album, it simply has to be good with these guys together now! Took lots of great pictures, and also some short videos with the digital cameras. Now we where 3 generations together, as my grandson also wanted to join me! (Just to be kind) It's not quite his kind of music, but he was clapping his hands to the rhythm ...to my great joy! He even put on the Country Life t-shirt I was so lucky to acquire! The park was crowded, about 7000. At once Virginia Plain started the show, people were jumping up and down. The guy beside me, in the front line, had a full glass of bear in his hand. I got half of it in my face of course, but it was soon forgotten when a pretty young and handsome man helped me to wipe it up with his handkerchief! The weather was perfect too! The two first reviews: Tv2 says 'Charm-bomb from Roxy Music', it's on TV, on the text tv's first side, and here: http://pub.tv2.no/nettavisen/side2/musikk/article409454.ece Nrk says Viva Roxy! 'The Sunday's concert verified that Roxy Music still has the dangerous, magnetic power of attraction!' http://www.nrk.no/musikk/ click HELE SAKEN, see pictures (bilder). Oh I'm so delighted that Norway at last has been reminded of Roxy's existence after 29 years! But clearly they have never quite been forgotten.
