Now, I don't know how many of you are familiar with this neck of the woods, but Roxy-like watering holes are few and far between. Most places are hard core Irish pubs, or cavernous venues that featured in the heyday of punk and haven't been cleaned or changed their clientele since those heady pogoing days. Anyway, here are the findings of the judges: If you don't mind pretty grubby spit'n'sawdust pubs The Hope ad Anchor right next door to the venue will do fine. All the pubs are pretty much the same, but I ventured across what looks like it could be a little diamond in the rough further up the road. If you walk away from Koko up Camden High Street (towards Camden tube station) you will come across Delancy Street on your left. Turn into this street and there is a place called Martini's Cocktail Bar on your left, next door to Delancy's restaurant. Martini's looks like it has a little garden through the back plus an upstairs and looks quite funky - have no fear I'm sure they do beer too. But it seemed quite an appropriate venue in the circumstances. If it is shut there is a bar across the road on Camden High Street and Pratt Street called Liberties which looks OK. If a post gig is your favoured choice (and probably will be for most of us who are either working and or traveling), head back up towards Camden tube station and keep heading towards Camden Lock on Camden High Street. First left past the tube is Inverness Street (how apt). Turn into this street and on your right is Made in Brazil - it is great fun, great drinks and serves til 12pm - no mean feat for a Wednesday in London. Just suggestions, but let us all know what you think, so anyone who wants to meet anyone else can do so successfully. Your round, make mine a Cosmo. Hmmm, do you get the impression we're starting to warm up to the idea of Wednesday now?
