In spite of it costing #270 (my life savings) in (I think ) 1981, after cleaning it looked like a piece of rag. The dry cleaner said "well I hope it wasn't expensive because it wasn't sewn together inside, just glued, a bit like stage clothing". I think I cried. 2) Any of the "Roxy" clothes I owned would now be hugely AI (Age Inappropriate) and I would look a complete nerd. My heart bleeds for you Mr Langley re your ruined Plaza jacket, I made the very big mistake of leaving one of my red leather lookalikey numbers at home in Newcastle only to discover my mother had commandeered it and was the toast of the local whist drive. When OAPs admire your dress sense you know you're in trouble. My suggestion is that, in true Roxy ambiguous fashion, all you "boys" should come in drag. If Amanda Lear, the backing singers from the Hard Rain video, and the pianist from the These Foolish Things vid can do it, so can you. And you know Mr F would appreciate the thought. Mind you, all you Scotsmen have got a head start in the skirt department. I might possibly have squeezed into my loveliest ever garment, a delightful purple-green two-tone shimmery suit, only a few years back I too made the mistake of leaving that at my mum's place for a few months. When I went to reclaim it, she had decided I "obviously" didn't want it any more and had given it my sister who, ever resourceful, had turned it into a lovely skirt. Hang on a mo, maybe that drag idea isn't so crazy after all...
