each original member. Phil's are going to  all be instrumental because Bryan 
said the deadline of the first milennial  decade meant there was no time to write 
lyrics. Andy has done covers of two Gene  Autry songs plus Saint-Saens' 
Carnival of Animals. Bryan is looking to do three  that cover the whole career of 
Bob Dylan. I've done an update of Your  Application's Failed and two Concrete 
Blonde numbers. It's been great having  such illustrious company for the

Subject: [AVALON] Roxy Giants of Rock Live

A live version of Virginia Plain (taken from the album Roxy Music Live) is  
the opening track on a free (unless you count the cover price of this 
right-wing  pro-hunting rag) double album.
 
The album, "Giants of Rock Live", is enclosed with today (and next  
Saturday's) copy of Daily Mail in the UK. Somehow, despite the title, the album  
manages to compile Roxy, REO Speedwagon, Deep Purple with the LSO, Little Feat,  
ELP, Pat Benatar, Chicago, Thunder, Jefferson Airplane, Iggy Pop, Little River  
Band and George Thorogood.
 
Won't bore you with the tracks available next week (unless you ask me to,  
offlist), but the double album sleeve comes complete with leather clad foxtress, 
 suitable for hunting.

That must have been a costly exercise to have covers and discs reprinted
because they had the exact same, if differently titled "Monsters of Rock -
Live", double album in last Sat and Sun's Mails. But at #1.20 a paper I'm
sure they can afford it?

Disc 2: Yes, Fleetwood Mac, ELO, The Stranglers, T'Pau, Canned Heat, Gary
Numan, Nazareth, Asia, Jimi Hendrix, Bruce Dickinson and Styx.

(After some 35 yrs I finally discovered a Purple Haze line was: "'scuse me
while I kiss the sky" and, not as I thought '..... while I kiss this guy'??
Oh the shame!!)
