The rumour mills (no relation) bore fruit when the band was indeed joined by Mick Jagger for lead vocals on one number (Get Up, Get Out). Ray Cooper was on percussion, looking as though the past 20 years haven't happened - a benefit of adopting a look of a bank manager all that time ago. Andy Newmark, however, as drummer was all but unrecognisable to anyone who knows him by his Ferry-era look. He now sports a silver fox short-back-and-sides side parting job as befits his senior status. Among other numbers, they played a cover of Sly & The Family Stone's If You Want Me To Stay, the original version of which Andy played drums. They also did an excellent take on Piece of My Heart. Obviously, neither Etta James nor Janis Joplin were available, so walking on stage to take up lead vox was none other than...well, no, it wasn't him, but the excellent, excellent Beverley Knight. Best wishes Richard Mills n/p For The Love Of You - Joss Stone ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ End of avalon-digest V10 #57 **************************** ======================================================================== For further info, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: info avalon-digest
