My most played is Frantic, in my opinion, that is Ferry at his best - Hiroshima is just superb. off topic, is anyone meeting in Glasgow on the 30th? In Your Mind is a cracking record, punchy and cool with a big, big sound and Ferry's familiar strained vocals struggling to keep up (shades of the future I wonder)? Backed by THE solo Ferry tour (I must confess that I was only three when he played the dates but a certain wise shaman tells me it was great and besides I've got the dvd). IYM even has the closest he ever got to a Christmas single (the title track always sounds like Hark the Herald Angels to me). As it's in competition with Mamouna on the current thread, I must confess that I do like bits of Mamouna (but after God knows how long there's only really some good b-side material there and besides any lp featuring Wildcat Days deserves a jolly good spanked bottom). I don't care if Ferry hates In Your Mind, what the hell does he know? I'm considering ordering one hundred copies of it on Bryanferry.com just to make the silly bugger sign them all. That'd very nearly be worth #3000 (+ p&p). The cover art; an iconic shot of Ferry in impenetrable neon flecked shades or an out of copyright cheapo painting of Dobbin the pantomime horse, says it all really. Its the one album of the remastered reissues that sounds really, really shit hot, as if they went from mono to Lucasfilm approved Dolby Digtal ex THX quadrophonic. Its that good. Oh yeah, and its got Love Me Madly Again on it. I bloody love it. Oh, that would be great...and then cancel the order....no, seriously, I've got to hear the album now! I'm sure I can find it cheap these days... Here is my Top 5. 1. Sympathy For The Devil - a brilliant version that really tear The Stones original apart. 1. The "In" Crowd - yes I know, two number one but I can't decide, David O'List guitar is vicious on this track 3. Let's Stick Together - a song that have become a must on his live acts 4. Don't Think Twice It's All Right - Nicely done with just a piano, harmonica and his vocal 5. A Hard Rains a-Gonna Fall - another great Dylan number ( he did it at the concert at Shepherds Bush when I saw him) Smoke Gets In Your Eyes was very close to enter the list also. /Rgds Kenneth ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ End of avalon-digest V9 #307 **************************** ======================================================================== For further info, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: info avalon-digest
