I joined the AvalonList about one year ago and I have spent nice time with you all sharing ideas, feelings and news about the music we appreciate. My grateful thanks to everybody everywhere. Music carries so many emotions that we must admit that when people agree on an artist they are very close to each others. For instance, when I read Ole's last post I could say I read myself. So, I would appreciate and like to suggest we share something more concrete, something we could build together and keep. Like a "Souvenir" from friends. One of us recently asked (shouted??) for artworks for Ferry/Roxy bootlegs. Hum! I am not sure he proposed any... Christmas time is approaching. Why don't we take this opportunity to realise and trade homemade artworks? Thanks for reacting. Whatever is decided, I am please to send to anyone asking for, these 2 artworks I am about to complete : Ferry in Paris : 23 septembre 2002, that day I got 25 years younger. Ferry in Bale for Avo Session. I will also try to post them on dedicated Net sites like artwork.easytree.org Plaisir d'offrir, joie de recevoir. Of course, yesterday was Thanksgiving in the States, so that could explain it. Everyone's still sitting around with heartburn. Anyway, your posting was very nice. I agree that we all share an emotional bond as fans of Roxy Music. Thanks for making me aware of artwork.easytree.org. It looks like they have a lot of great cd covers there. I would love to see what you submit, so please do! I don't really have anything to submit myself just now, however. Joyeaux Noel! Glaedelig Jul! Merry Christmas! Keep on Truckin! Hi Y'all, I first joined Avalon just before the ATGB tour and participated in the first CD tree of that tour, the Boston show. What an exciting time that was--the lesser-known (outside of us, of course) Roxy songs he performed were brilliant. I dropped off the list shortly before the Roxy reunion. Living in the middle of Kansas with no resources to see any of the last few tours kinda got depressing after a while. I'm assuming, unless list policies changed during my absence, that there were some good CD trees of the reunion. So here's a two-part proposal. First, what live CD of each tour (ATGB, the reunion, Frantic, any others I may have missed) is in your opinion the definitive one for that respective tour? Not necessarily because it was a show you attended, but that sonically it is an overall great recording. If a consensus is reached for each tour, how about a re-tree for those (like me) who may have missed the opportunity the first time around? Again, if live CD trading is still okay with the list. On a final note, does MonquiBoy still hang around here? I've got four more years of living under a less humorous monkey boy to deal with, and could really use a laugh right now.
