Moody, atmospheric and rather unlike My Squelchy Life, Eno's own ditty. ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 11 Jul 2004 17:04:08 EDT From: KWil632057@aol.com Subject: [AVALON] Ferry apologises to the fans personally/Is anybody interested in schizophrenia? BBC TV Ceefax service reports that Ferry has personally apologised to his fans (presumably in writing?) for cancelling so many shows this Summer. Roxy meanwhile were heard up north tonight (in Coronation Street no less) with Love is the Drug featuring on the playlist chez Battersby. Not the only Roxy/Corrie connection: the Corrie cameras being enlisted to record the Manchester leg of the slightly creepy Manifesto tour or so our Geordie hero thought... Ho ho ho. He cut quite a forlorn figure though and looked somewhat dismayed by it all at the end and thanked us for our patience but fell short of an apology. A good sized crowd were naturally disappointed but took it quite well. At least the people of Oxfordshire enjoyed a spectacular and unexpected firework display. Two friends who came with Sharon and I, thoroughly enjoyed the show and thought Ferry was brilliant as well as the band and can't wait to see him again. If only they could have seen the Birmingham Roxy shows! It was great to see John and Andrew Shearer again - hope your homeward journey was reasonably hassle free John! After the show I chatted with three German guys from Hamburg who had been standing in front of me during the show - one called Bryan! (real name Holger). Surely, for the sake of people such as these Bryan should call time on this tour. Here's to some new material and hopefully a fully fit Bryan in 2005. Bye for now everyone. I look to the fan sites mentioned a lot here at Avalon, but is there now some routine that one can plug into a little more pro-actively? Have finally seen Lost In Translation. Lost is right. What a pile of execrable torpor. Not even seeing the 'famous' karaoke scene of MTT made the time spent worthwhile, but at least now I know...
