This is what the JJ Archive site says about it : In Every Dream Home (A Nightmare) The song title probably refers to the Roxy Music song "In Every Dream Home (A Heartache)" Eh? What? Probably????? I checked it out and it's not bad. Nice Bass line/drums and interesting lyrics. Cheers the noo! This is the very gig that got me into Roxy. The Swedish TV taped the whole thing, edited down to 60 or so minutes and throw the rest away. someone nicked the tapes and became one of the better Roxy bootlegs. - -- Daniel ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 2 May 2004 17:24:49 +0200 From: Daniel Atterbom Subject: [AVALON] Jealous Guy I've had a kind of Jealous Guy weekend, listening to the Roxy version, Lennon's original and Danny Hathaway's pre-Roxy cover. Hathaway's cover is no 3, with Lennon and Roxy both taking no 1 imho. - -- Daniel ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 2 May 2004 18:20:10 +0200 From: Bahi Subject: Re: [AVALON] Jealous Guy > I've had a kind of Jealous Guy weekend, listening to the Roxy > version, Lennon's original and Danny Hathaway's pre-Roxy cover. > Hathaway's cover is no 3, with Lennon and Roxy both taking no 1 imho. I haven't heard Hathaway's version but here are some suggestions for your next JG week-end: the recordings by Jimmy Scott, Cuddly Punx (covering Roxy's cover) and Lou Reed. I quite like the get-it-out-of-the-way, up-tempo version on Roxy's last live album, too, somewhat against expectations - Ferry's voice is still the thing, sounding all the better on this song in its slightly worn and ragged state - and Andy's moment in the spotlight sounds great. I watched Kill Bill vol 2 last night and it strikes me now, listening to Mr Scott's recording that comes to us from another planet, that his Jealous Guy would have made a fine, fine backdrop to some of the scenes featuring Bill and The Bride. B PS Throw in Burger/Ink's The Jealous Guy from Memphis for some light(ish) relief, perhaps. ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe avalon ------------------------------ End of avalon-digest V9 #114 **************************** ======================================================================== For further info, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: info avalon-digest
