This beautiful venue is just across the Menai Straits from Anglesea, where Bryan Ferry and Antony Price photographed Jerry Hall for the cover of the Roxy Music album 'Siren'. Tickets are now on sale. http://www.ticketline.co.uk/event_details.asp?CPFlag=0&EventId=27094 Regards Chris ____________________________________________________________ Yahoo! Out on Monday is the latest of the excellent Under The Influence series this time featuring Bob Geldof. Among his selection is Do The Strand. The cd will feature extensive sleeve notes detailing why Bob chose the songs on the album. Well worth a look! As borrowed from Bowienet "If you played the same game with the Roxy/ Ferry catalogue, what would you create?" Jocelyn, surely you jest? For it seems that Mr. Ferry may very well be a great pioneer of 'mash-up' with all his 'remaking/remodeling' of many self penned tunes (only the lyrics have not been changed to protect the ... innocent?)! Now I make no dis on BF, he is a demi-god among demi-gods - a giant among the musically inclined. I appreciate most of his 'mash-up' work - he is the only artist I am aware of that may be able to successfully pull off such daring feats... Hold on! I've just been reminded, Bryan Ferry probably 'mashes' his own work because (oh sacrilege of all mothers) he has 'writer's block'? No. Couldn't possibly have anything to do with being a 'masher', you think? Enough! In spirit of the game, may I suggest a 'mash-up' of "San Simeon" with the "Bogus Man"? Or perhaps, "Mother Of Pearl" meets "NYC"? The former suggestion because of Hearst's Spectra, the latter because the main line always blows. Anyone have other suggestion - wanna play? Best wishes. But isn't there a law against some new upstarts calling themselves something similar to a much-cherished band and allowing the confusion that might result when fans hope and pray this is a pseudonym by one or all of the original outfit? Actually, I know the answer to this question, so please consider it rhetorical.
